Thursday 30th March | 2pm | Parkhead Primary School
See Glasgow’s latest conservation projects before they become a reality! Join our Insight Tours for a rare behind-the-scenes glimpse of conservation work in action and meet the team in charge of the project.
Parkhead Primary School last fully functioned as a school around 1990 and has featured on the Buildings at Risk Register for Scotland since 2011. Glasgow Preservation Trust is now working to repair the historic fabric of the Category B-Listed former school, built in 1878, and create a new community enterprise centre in Parkhead.
The former Parkhead Public School project is being funded by Parkhead Cross THI (Glasgow City Council and Heritage Lottery Fund), the Scottish Government Regeneration Capital Grants Fund, and Historic Environment Scotland. It is being managed by Glasgow Building Preservation Trust and will come under the ownership of Parkhead Housing Association on completion who will run it as a community enterprise centre and offices.
All PPE will be provided. Places are limited so early booking is recommended.
